In the context of its commitment to Ukraine during the Eurovision Song Contest in May The UK government has declared that tickets will be provided to Ukrainians who were forced to move to the UK to attend the M&S Bank Arena Liverpool ceremony. The city of Liverpool was selected to host the event to replace Ukraine as the contest’s winner. The reason for this is Russian aggression. The government also provided PS million funding for this purpose.
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has made public PS million of funding to “showcase Ukrainian culture” in honor of the anniversary of the invasion of Russia into the nation. The funds will be used to finance collaborations between the BBC and Liverpool City Council with Ukrainian musicians and musicians in order to put on a show which celebrates music as well as its capacity to unite people around the globe. Furthermore, the funds will help in the preparation of security, visa compliance , and other logistics concerning the extravaganza along with supporting Liverpool City Council’s school, community and volunteering programmes.

Kalush Orchestra from Ukraine, an extremely acclaimed folk-rap group has won the last year’s competition in Turin. Timur Miroshnychenko from Ukraine, who has been providing commentary on Eurovision on the show in Ukraine for the past five years, will be performing live during the show. Timur will offer an insight into the perspective of Ukraine in Liverpool. Today marks the second anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that saw many of Ukrainians flee their homes to find shelter in the UK. There are two schemes: the Homes for Ukraine Scheme or the Ukraine Family Scheme can provide refugees with a home meet the criteria for these situations.
